Throughout the holy scriptures God’s people are exhorted to be stedfast, unmovable, not shaken, planted; that is, stable.

In this portion of Psalm 119 we see the Psalmist speaking with God and being reminded that the Almighty has a holy plan, a divine purpose laid our for man. And as that purpose is discovered and developed man then finds stability.

In this passage John the Baptist sends his disciples to ask this question, “Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?”  Persecutions and trials can cause us to doubt and act uncharacteristically but notice that Christ does not rebuke sharply rather, he answers in an emphatic yet kind manner.
